The Amur Flame Maple (Acer tataricum subsp. ginnala 'Flame') is deciduous, typically grows as a small, upright spreading tree with a dense, rounded crown or as a large multi-stemmed shrub. Plant 6' - 8' apart to form a stunning fall hedge. The leaf color is glossy dark green in summer and changing to one of the most brilliant red colored trees in the fall. The flowers are yellowish white and bloom in April to May. Amur Maple 'Flame' is very good specimen for landscaping and can also be used to form a deciduous hedge. Amur is a versatile landscape addition, and acclimates well in cold and warm regions.
